A classic...

Now let's see... Do you suppose that anyone, anywhere, anytime, might decide to sort the messages in that database by date?

I don't think that things are going to work out quite the way the expect if they do. Yep, data is data. But hey, Cherri has volunteered to go in and manually repair all the dates before they sort the data. Because he is convinced that everything is working.. inspite of a bad date.

Just another little example that there will be problems.

Disclaimer: Cherri did not really volunteer. I just thought he of all would be able to take a bit of ribbing without going off. :)

-- Michael Erskine (Osiris@urbanna.net), January 01, 2000.

hehehe.... OUR date is sure purty... thanks, guys. That was definitely the icing on the cake.

Let this be a moral for all of us. Take Y2K seriously.

-- eubie (dates@reimportant.com), January 01, 2000.

It's not a Y2k problem, just a coincidental data glitch. ;)

-- Firemouse (firemouse@fcmail.com), January 01, 2000.

Right you are. The debunker forum has FAILED! Hasn't it?

-- Flint (flintc@mindspring.com), January 01, 2000.

Hoot of the Century! (Just which century, I'm not sure.)

-- jor-el (jor-el@krypton.uni), January 01, 2000.

FIRST, Cherri is a woman, Erskine a.k.a. (...@.......).... which shows ONCE AGAIN just how much "research" the doomers have done into ANYTHING! You couldn't even have held a conversation with her, so you wouldn't even know her qualifications (which are more than anyone else on this entire webboard).

SECOND, I can see how a mis-posted date would neccesitate stockpiling fuel, water, food, and withdrawing all monies from financial institutions....WOW, I am so glad I bought that 1,000 gallon cistern for water! the web in showing some mis-posted dates! OH HORROR!!

one of the biggest lies told by the fear-mongers...."I can just eat my mistake"

Bull....how does one 'eat' a concrete monolith? How does one 'eat' a broken relationship with family members who where razzed as "DGI's"?

-- Watching (the@fools.exposed), January 01, 2000.

Well Watching... Since Cherri did not indicate she was a woman in the E-Mail we exchanged perhaps a month ago. I think she must not have been offended at the slight oversight.

Your obvious upset on the other hand is quite interesting. If you think I was trying to insult, think again. I can be much more subtile and cutting when I insult. Ask Phil, to whom I have already appologized publicly.

If you know so much about everyone "Watching" you will realize that I have received all the information from DeBunkers that I need right here in the past three or four days. Not only that but I am done with fighting. I managed to use the fighting to make myself look foolish. It is not my desire to continue to do that. You do whatever you like.

I am quite certain that Cherri, is not all that offended, but then it seems to me that Cherri has indicated an ability to read what is written.

So watching, since I was not speaking to you or about you. No appology will be coming in your direction. If you can't see the joke, perhaps you might try taking yourself a bit less seriously.

Meantime, I am "waiting".

Watching,

You don't seem to think that a computer making the date rollover from 1999 to 2000 come out as 19100 is a problem. Can I get a phot of you looking at your next credit card bill computed in the same manner?

Your reaction to being charged 17,100 years worth of interest, carrying charges, overdue payment fees and membership fees should be priceless.

This problem is also evident on Gary North's forums.

Gary's Small Business Forum

that's because they all use the "free" WWWBoard scripts from "Matt's Script Archive".

I posted a page from the Y2K FAQ regarding fixes for this at:

http://hv.greenspun.com/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg.tcl?msg_id= 002BIY

It seems rather easy to fix, yet noone seems to be doing much about it.....??? eh.. what's the rush.
