Lights are still on in Kansas City at 1:14AM CST. Had a bit of a bank run, which just now ended. One person went into a bank to withdraw all the cash -- at gunpoint. Turned into a hostage situation which fortunately has just been resolved without bloodshed.

The gas price at a 7-11 0.5 miles from my house (I guess I'm 10X toasted per Paul Milne) went down $.01 today. No gas lines here except at a station running a $.999/gallon promotion.

Things are still rockin' in Memphis..........If we're lucky, Elvis may even make an appearance.

Uhm...what Mikey2k says.

I'm sure the bank robbery will be in the news tomorrow. Look for "Olathe" and "Bank of America" (the suburb and bank where it happened.)

No problems whatsoever in KC. We've checked all our systems and everything is up. A line to California is down, but they haven't rolled yet and we suspect they shut everything off. We'll check it again in the morning.

All in all, it went much much more smoothly than anticipated.

Yo, Jim. What business (or type of business if your're reluctant to say) are you involved with? Are you in one of the business Y2k war rooms I've heard about?

Happy Y2k

We're all lit up in Green Bay, Wisconsin!! Happy New Year to all. What are we gonna do with all these batteries???? LOL

All's well in Southern Wisconsin. Processing (mainframe and client/server) started early this morning at my shop and is doing remarkably well; nothing out of the ordinary on our integrated NT and Novell network. Thank God.

Hi FM!

All's well here (so far) in Hutchinson, MN. Utilities, water, sewer, etc. all running with no problems at this point. This is one very grateful person! We'll see what happens in the next couple of months. We're not out of the woods yet, not by a long shot.

Mikey2k, Jim,

Greetings fellow KC'ers! Yes, all is well in KCKS...in fact, this was the quietest NYE we've seen in many years. Go figure. (Ain't complaining!)

Lights, check. Water, check. Phones, check (although we have some problems with SWB 'Call Notes' feature, but that's not so unusual.

This morning, hubby received a page from IBM (hubby was the on call 'point man'). Seems his company's AS400 had automatically sent IBM a 'distress' message (don't know the nature of the problem, or when it occured). Hubby enroute to work now (as had been scheduled previously), will meet up with their AS400 guy and I'll report back later what the deal was.
