Roll Call....Who Has Power or Problems?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Electric Utilities and Y2K : One Thread

Just a quick check about any first hand knowledge of power problems. Duke Power is presently running with 95% generating capacity. Greenville-Spartanburg-Asheville are good. No local news reports of problems. Internet on the first try. Somebody actually called me at midnight.

We seem to be doing just fine here in the Midwest - Chicago, Northern Illinois. No problems. My eight year-old daughter is SOOOO disappointed. :) Now she'll have to go to school on Monday.

My congratulations and hearty thanks to all the folks who made the lights stay on!

Rockin' in Virginia Beach (but then, I knew it would be :)

Incidentally, I am told that Virginia Power disconnected itself from the grid, at least in some form or other (not exactly a vote of confidence in the rest of the grid, if true).

No problems reported on the news in Nashville, and my family in South Jersey says the same. Our TV's, phones and lights all work. Whew! - Judy
