Watching Times Square on Americast cable, the Emergency Broadcast tone sounded at midnight, but there was no message. Kinda freaky, had everyone paralyzed for about 15 seconds.

Any conjectures of cause?

Had both TVs on Friday night... no strangeness, but then I use Time Warner, which is a more mature cable system. In fact, no strangeness to report at all... Y2K is, on a large scale, a dud.
