Come on all you vegans, make me an offer.

Lars,

Don't be an anxious fool. It's so, so early yet. Relax and don't give away security.

I'm a vegan - but a vegan with 1,100 lbs of dried food, including a fair amount of pinto beans! Thanks for the opportunity though...

Are you anywhere near south of the border? I think a 5-gallon bucket of pinto beans could bring you about $15.00. Start loading.

I will trade a smoked fish and a can of baked beans for them.

WHY get rid of them? For me, it was never just Y2k to be prepared for, and I'm sure that some calamity will eventually come along that will make you wish you had some of those beans/food.

Life is full of risks, even if Big Daddy govt wants to protect us from them, and you must take responsibility for yourself and your family.

Or if you feel that you must get rid of them, eat them as you go. Eating beans is far healthier than meat anyways (I do eat some meat, but only occasionally)...your colon will appreciate the break from meat (at the cost of some extra flatulance :) )
