Not for GMT. Will for the rollover (going to a party close by - don't trust possible power surges). Got a Mac, so not too worried.

Shutting down, unplugging and disconnecting. I doubt that there will be problems; but why take a chance.

Best wishes,,,,

I am shutting down the HOUSE at 5pm CST (US)

that's one hour before GMT rollover.

Last night, we had a "little" unexpected test power outage.

We were watching TV and I noticed a particular flicker in the light that experience told me was the Trace Inverter taking charge. Sure enough, power's out (except at our house ;^)

so we RAN through the house shutting off all the holiday lights and unplugging the alley motion lights.

So once we got all the "visible" signs of life off, we decided to go for a drive and see how extensive the problem was. As we entered the backyard the big motion-detector floodlight on the back of the house turned on.

I might remind people that we live in EVANSTON IL, just north of Chicago. Its a suburb with the usual density of houses. We don't live in a rural area. So any indication that we have power if the power is out is like a BEACON, sure to invite curious neighbors and city officials and Utility Workers.

I'm shutting down, flipping to solar backup. Shortly before 6 Central time. I'll watch TV to see if GMT means anything, before flipping back.

I have already turned my clock foward, so far no problems on the east coast.
