50 cents Maximum Sales Tax Initiative

When can voters pass a 50 cents Maximum Sales Tax initiative?

With so many shoppers going to the web to avoid sales tax, our state businesses need to remain competitive.

Let us limit sales tax to a maximum fee of 50 cents per purchase. Obviously, you will continue to pay the 8.2% sales tax if you just buy a pack of chewing gum (just as long as the maximum sales tax per purchase is 50 cents).

Who writes your stuff for you? This is really funny.

Your suggestion has merit. I think business would go along with it because you'd have to buy more at the one place so as to avoid the high tax on just one item. Looking a little closer, I see you only want the 8.2 percent up to about $6. and then just the 50 cent tax. I think my idea of just a 50 cent tax (per single purchase) on anything would go over better with the people in Olympia. Obviously, some one had to elect them, so apparently there is a reason for them being there.
