I just viewed jrwhipple's site where a webcam is set up in Brisbane. Guess what the clock on the camera says? 1/1/99! I thought that was funny. Fireworks display is ongoing right now.

Watching it from work here - as soon as it turned over from 12/31/99 - it went out for about three minutes. Came back on line showing fireworks - but now date is 1/1/99.

In Sydney, the Sydney Harbor Bridge collapsed from too many people on the bridge for the festivities. They are sifting thru the rubble and victims now.
