Realizing that the phrase "you get what you pay for" is often very true, but also knowing that there are exceptions as well, I just picked up a Tamron 300 f5.6 for a 'song'. I'm pretty much a Nikon user; with this now being the only exception. I know that I should test this lens myself to determine it's worth, but thought it wouldn't hurt to ask anyone having experience with this lens their opinion of it. Being a prime lens, how does it fair compared to, let's say, the high end of Nikon's 75-300 or 70-300? Under carefull technique is it capable of 8X10s, or larger, blow-ups. Basically I just want to know what kind of image potential I have here. Thanks so much.
