Maybe I'm just being a little too paranoid...but

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

All the NZ webcams are out except the one on some major highway system. When looking at that cam, all you see are vehicle headlights. No streetlights, no buildings. Probably nothing, but just strikes me as a little odd.

Darwin Territories reported large, spradic ATM outages lasting several hours.

It could be that the servers are just overloaded. Everyone and their brother is trying to hit these things right now.

Now for something really farfetched....

Could they be showing Last's years Celebration?

Has anyone actually seen the number 2000 on TV?

I haven't been watching so maybe I just didn't catch it.

-- Red Dawn (reddawn@thebunker.com), December 31, 1999.

I am watching Fox News and they haven't gone back either but they did mention this link that has a screwed up date.

Supposedly wind that caused damage in Nz was "disastrous", damaged web cams etc....yet weather watches not showing any bad winds there...hmm

-- Tiara (sorceress5@hotmail.com), December 31, 1999.

Do what? Some people make me laugh. YOu mean to tell me that it is a BIG coverup? All news agencies are replaying last years celebration? Hold on a sec (HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA) OK now back to your regular dooming.

Well, my TV is showing year 2000 fireworks in Sydney. More to the point, I've been looking out of my window here in Canberra and see the local pyrotechnics. No probs so far, 0055 and all's well.

Auckland Weather Report

Here's a link to weather conditions in Auckland

Winds were up to 23 mph

And Peter Jennings stated that it was the wind that caused the devastation.....yes, he said devastation!

-- Red Dawn (reddawn@thebunker.com), December 31, 1999.

Alan E Brain,

Come-on, we know you are posting from a year ago! *giggle*

That was a beautiful fireworks show.

I find it hard to believe that some poeple believe so strongly in their view of of doom that they have to conjer up fantisies of world-wide cover-ups.

Alan, I must say, you are definatly a century ahead of the doomers. It must be nice to be in the 21st century when some people refuse to leave the superstitions and mindset of the 20th.

By the way, OZ is short for Australia.

-- Cherri (sams@brigadoon.com), December 31, 1999.

Red Dawn, the wind from the explosion, right? Really, I shouldn't joke about stuff like that.
