Y2K STORE UPDATE: JANESVILLE, WI

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Just got back from last minute prepping. Tons of folks who seem to be just getting it. Big Lots still had lamp oil, but sale candles are cleaned out. Woodman's grocery store was very busy at 7 pm when we drove by, so we waited til 9 to finish our groceries--first big shock: THE BREAD AISLES WERE ALMOST TOTALLY WIPED OUT. Sheeple everywhere, 2 and 3 carts per person. Ramen noodles-ALMOST GONE. Water was clearing out fast. Macaroni LOW. Folks, this is a HUGE grocery store and it was kind of weird to see this. The girl at the checkout said it was a totaL MADHOUSE today and that the bread had been gone since yesterday. One weird thing...was looking for wasabi (that hot green sushi condiment) in the asian section--they usually have tons--and it was wiped out too...weird. Most of the Asian section was cleaned out too...I just don't know how I am gonna get thru the rollover without my wasabi...

I have my two tins of powdered green tea and packets of miso. Why weren't you prepped?

I could survive on wasabi for about thirty seconds. (*ralph*.) I don't like horseradish either.
