I have NEVER seen a more obvious tag team as the press and the Y2K czar and his team. j

If any of you saw the C-span Y2K press conference I would be interested in your take on what I saw as the most incredible side-stepping answers to questions (without any rebuttals) that I've ever seen.

Here is an example:

Reporter to Ms. Garvey: "Have there been any threats to any airports that you know of"? (got that questions any threats, seems like a yes or no question)

Ms. Garvey: As I've said the airports have stepped up awareness and prudence etc....blah.

And do you think any of the reporters called them on there obfuscation. No way!!!! they just wrote down the non-answers.

Too obvious!!

Sounds pretty standard for polly-ticks eh? Seems to me we're witnessing the beginning of "disinformation phase 2" where they not only continue to ridicule or marginalize people who GI or prepare, but they also attempt to control the dissemination of info. to the public at large.

A simple containment exercise. Prevents or mitigates "panic" and establishes firm control over the people.

It would seem to be that experience is the best teacher as Jane Garvey has become much better at her primary job. It simply took me a while to understand what that job entailed.

Kosky, of course, is a past master and has ensured himself a position in the Hall of Fame for (you fill in the blank)> :)
