Went to Lowes and Other Tid Bits

First I am resolved, in order to reduce server load that I will only use a real email address in the future.

Second, I seem to be doing this a lot lately but... it appears that I owe Phil an apology. I am sorry that I misinterpreted the facts. Phil you were tired, I was impatient. Neither of us was gracious, but I should have taken into consideration the strain you were under last night. My most humble...

I went to Lowes this evening. Things were calm, not tons of people there looked just like any other day. Talked to a couple of folks, nothing unusual. Finally asked the cashier what was happening, more generators today than the rest of the year. I said well it's winter, remember the storm last year. She said that wasn't what people were telling her.

Soo... Went to the grocery. Asked a couple of stockers what was up. They said water was up. Seems that folks are quietly stocking for the three day storm.

So I thought about things ... the board. The constant bickering amoung 'doomers' and 'pollies' the hatefull attitude which some of us have exhibited (I am in that group). I want to say I am sorry to anyone I might have offended... I am sure there are some.

In a day we will know if we are going off a cliff. In a month we will know if we are going down a slippery slope. In any event, any event at all. Anger and differences should have no part in it, they will but they should not.

I am resolved to refrain... So if you catch me being a s*** tell me straight up.

Thanks Michael

Michael,

THAT was commendable. I wasn't one offended but I admire your acceptance of responsibility and desire to "smooth the waters" by forfeiting your pride and stepping up to the plate. A standing ovation is in order.

Michael:

Thank you so much for your open honesty and humility! It is with pleasure and pride that I call you a friend.

God be with you sir.

Folks:

Now I have no reason to believe that there will be failure in the water systems where I live. Still, I think that the authorities have done a poor job of explaining the reasons for stocking up for, even, a three day storm. Today, in the check-out line, I was behind an older lady [maybe late 70's or early 80's]. She had 6x12oz bottles of spring water. She told the clerk that this was her Y2K stock of water that the government said she should have. If the water fails I wonder if she will drink it or use it to flush. Planning could have been better.

Best wishes,,

My XO left for Korea some time ago, and I asked him what he wanted as a going-away present. He thought for a moment and said, "Sir, I would just like people to be TENDER towards one another." I offer that to all on this forum, and to MAJ Kenny M., thanks for the thought and your hard work

As a Korean Linguist trained at the Defense Language Institute (too long ago to remember)... I pray God be with your XO. Worst possible time in thirty years to be in Korea... worst possible time. Does he have children?
