***Any New News to Report In ?***

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) Rollover/Back-Up Forum : One Thread

Things are hoppin' here in my town of 15,000. Stores are packed and people loading up on the fuel. How about your areas ? Anything to report in ? We are bumping the deadline and the media is blazing away.

Did anyone See the Jenny Jones show spotlighting the preppers today ??? Interesting. Very unbiased and open. Now, of course.

Herd is stirring here in Central Ohio: * Two gas stations were completely filled (short lines) with people filling up. I personally saw more than a few 5 gallon gas cans being filled.

* Water shelves are completely BARREN at the local Wal-Mart and I saw more than a few people in line stockpiling (cases of canned food, crackers, definitely NOT typical New Years party fare).

* Water was going fast at the local Krogers too. Also saw more than a few people stockpiling with non-typical party fare food, such as cases of canned foods, etc...

All this is off of CNN:

the state of New Hampshire is being fined $80 million for being non- compliant

17,000 without water in OH due to broken water main

God would they please please stop talking about George Harrison? He DIDN'T die!

From Drudge: power is out somewhere in GA (not good details yet--not being reported in mainstream media)

From my local police scanner: the cities of Plano and Rockwall, TX are apparently out putting up barricades for major roads,.....my first thought was New Year's celebrations but we aren't having any. Only a pretty low key thing in downtown Dallas

Sam's yesterday: 2 families buying what looked like a 5 year supply of paper towels, heh.

Currently filling up water bag, baking bread. Test run of chainsaw was successful. No venturing out today for me.

Chentrails are back, X pattern. Army choppers active last night, no evidence today. Live near Fort Meade.

Gainesville, FL: Nothing! Went to Sam's yesterday - it was empty. Generators on sale - shelves full. Carts full of refrigerated and frozen items. No one at the gas stations.
