Has the TB2000 roll over site gone down?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : HumptyDumptyY2K : One Thread

I'd been working my way through the posts when I started getting error messages. Just tried going back and can't get on at all. Mousie

yep, it seems down. I get the list of posts, but when I try to link to one or another, I'm redirected to Greenspun's "robot attack" statement. Let me propose (before everything here is closed to us) that an alternate site be designated and/or an IRC chat room be opened and maintained for the duration.

Those interested may write me at this email.

Sysops, if you have further news and/or updates and you feel like notifying folks, please give me a holler. Thanks.

An earlier thread on Humpty Dumpty seemed to be agreed as a backup forum if MIT servers stop or if *ahem* Phil should pull the plug so to speak, on all Y2K forums. OneLIST is not an MIT server and the forum was already setup by *I forget* I'm sorry. You need to sign up and reply to an email confirmation of your addy, but it was very fast for me, and was just glad to have an alternate place to go should things get even more recalcitrant over here.

OK, I'll open two channels now, one each on Undernet and Dalnet, both named #TB2000. I can keep them open until 12 midnight est tonight. At that time, I'll pass the ops off and others will have to spell me until tomorrow am.

My nick is Logogeist. Everyone welcome.

From: Y2K, ` la Carte by Dancr (pic), near Monterey, California

I've been holding EFnet #TimeBomb2000 for months in case of something like this happening. It's not multi-threaded, like the beautiful Greenspun software, but it is a wateringhole, and it is possible to keep the trolls out when anybody is awake to care.
