Y2K glitch may take down SCARY GARY's site!!!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) Rollover/Back-Up Forum : One Thread

Looks like Scary garys site may not be Y2K compliant how is that for coincidence.

Here is his post:

The man who wrote WWWBoard, which my site uses, has just posted a warning on some glitches. Whether I can get this fixed in time is a quesyion. I hope the furums will function, but the posting date may look goofy. The main thing is this: Will you be able to share information? I hope so. But I don't know.

We do not know what will be happening on the Web after January 1. It's another reason to sign up for my e-mail service, so that I can stay in contact, assuming that e-mail survives and we can still pay our internet service providers ****************

Y2K Update: There were minor y2k issues with six of the scripts listed here (Countdown, Counter, Free for all Links, TextClock, TextCounter and WWWBoard) which have now been fixed. You can read about the minor changes needed or download the updated versions, which have been integrated into the site. -- 12/29/99

I think the term is "ironic".

The poster boy for Y2k Awareness didnt check to see if his software was compliant until now.
