I went over to the Yahoo Y2K forum a few days ago, after someone suggested it as a possible alternate site. Last night, I got into an argument with a couple of folks, about our current situation here. They call it censorship, I call it taking out the trash. They just don't understand. They don't have to live with it every day. No big deal, just your average difference of opinion.

But right in the middle of this, guess who shows up? Stephen M. Poole, CET! I damned near fell out of my chair when I read the sig! But it gets better. A few minutes later, the big gun, cpr, checks in, backing Poole 101% of coarse. And a few minutes later, a not-so-big gun, Chicken Little throws his $.02 in. I WAS SURROUNDED BY BIG-TIME POLLIES!!!

What's wrong with this picture? Not only do these guys have their own anti-doom sites, they spend a bunch of time on other forums, bashing us poor doomers. I just don't get it. Why do they spend all of this time on a "non-event" ??? Seems like a big waste of human energy to me.

Kinda reminds me of the guy that would hit himself in the head with a hammer. When asked why he did it, he said because it feels so good when he stops!

Go figure.

The main difference between the pollies and the doomers is that the pollies are so desparate to be right. The doomers, of which I consider myself, want so desparately to be wrong.

Sure seems like they have an awful lot of time to devote to reading/posting to various bulletin boards and forums. Don't they work? (If they were *really* such high level folk, they wouldn't have the time.) Don't they have a life other than doing this? Sheesh...and I thought I spent a lot of time on the Internet.

Consider these Pollys to be similar to LL. There is a touch of mental disorder in their system. It's one thing to disagree and I've no problem with a polly havinga a right to their opinion. But its the pollies who become destructive trolls. That destructive behavior is a signal of mental disorder. They're about to go over the edge bucking for that rubber room somewhere. Poole and CPR etc may not wish to admit it but actions speak louder than words.

The same holds true for doomers who would do the same...except I don't know any doomers who engage in destructive behavior on the forums like these pollies.
