How does Mega Pixel resolution compare to pixels per inch? What is the standard?

Thanks in advance

It's a bit like comparing 'miles' to 'miles per hour'. They measure two different things.

'Megapixels' is the number of millions of pixels, usually in a sensor in a camera. 'Pixels per inch' is the number of linear pixels in one inch, and this measurement is more commonly used for printers.
