Looked and I can't find it.......

Need better directions to it...

Ray - the latest Infomagic post just appeared within the last hour so it's hot off the presses and your newsfeed may not have it yet.

It's entitled "I was wrong"....and the very first line in the message body states: "it WILL be worse." It's also very lengthy (19 printed pages) and I haven't dissected/digested the whole thing yet to give a more detailed report. Just wanted to give y'all a "heads up" on this one.

Quite an entertaining essay. Admits he/she was wrong about prior predictions regarding stock markets. But this time he/she's absolutely correct! So he/she says. LOL!

Anf if he/she HAPPENS to be correct...it was nice knowing you all. Well, some of you. A handful, perhaps.

Gotta go. I feel yet another personality switch coming on...

-- Bingo1 (howe9@pop.shentel.net), December 27, 1999.

First RC and the Oils, Now Infomagic predicts worse.

I only know one person who is at peace with this mess, god bless you, thanks for the honey.

God help us if Info is even half right. Time will tell.

-- Helium (Heliumavid@yahoo.com), December 27, 1999.

Here is a teaser from this lengthy assessment: "It is now completely inevitable that Y2K and the bursting of bubble.com will occur at one and the same time, leading rapidly to a new Great Depression far worse, far deeper and far longer lasting than that of the 1930's. Because of the confluence of these and other events, I am now also convinced that we will also see a complete breakdown of the global monetary system, a series of vicious dictatorships and, with ten year, WWIII . . ."

Ah come on, Infomagic, don't sugar-coat it; give it to us straight.

-- Claire (readinginfomagic@aol.com), December 27, 1999.

Can someone please provide a direct link to the Infomagic article?!!!

I cannot find the article by searching or linking whatsoever.

Thank you very much in advance.

Funny, we were just speaking of the devil on the latest no-no thread, citing the Hopi prophecy that used to be on Infomagic's site.

After all the wondering about what happened to him, here's his latest:

I was wrong, it WILL be worse, by Infomagic

We've eMailed him asking for permission to post his essay of today on this Forum. He's never answered our eMails in the past so kinda doubt it ...

For example, at one point, the US Navy claimed to have made compliant a "system" which consisted of a few guys sitting around drinking coffee in an office, but no computer at all.

So it seems the worst has been postponed for another year. But in exchange, it will be worse than ever. Time to start a new countdown, I guess.

See especially his invitation at the end:

You can obtain an autographed, printed copy of this document, together with three previous articles, for approximately two troy ounces of silver (three ounces outside the United States, to cover foreign postage). Just note the spot price of silver in your area and send a check, money order or cash for twice (or three times) that amount to: Masterpiece Software, Box 50327, Parks, AZ 86018. You can also send me physical silver. In this case you will also receive a copy of my fine art photograph "Gold, Guns and God" as a token of my appreciation for saving me the time and cost of converting worthless dollars into something of real, lasting value!

At least he figures the postal system will work which means that there will be transportation, gas, no roving mobs stealing silver, staff with food and all the utilities working so he can get his silver.

My what a hedge :o)

Greenspan and Clinton ought to have a copy of this essay permanently affixed to their foreheads with a railroad spike. I predict in post Y2K American civilization this will be a new plank of the rewritten Federalist papers.

-- Brian (imager@home.com), December 27, 1999.

Talk IS cheap. Very true. And wisdom is difficult to find.

I think the obligation to learn lies with the student--don't reject any source of information outright. Pick the argument apart. Learn from it. What's right? What's wrong?

Come to your own conclusions and make your own decisions. I've seen far too much "don't listen to HIM because _______." If the argument is THAT good it'll sell itself. If not, you don't need a babysitter to tell you otherwise.

Nymphomagic and beef wellington?

Strange talk for a Seventh Day Adventist.

Has anyone verified that it's the real "infomagic"?

Brian:

I don't understand your response. It's probably because I'm not Canadian. I just considered the piece by Info to be unsubstantianted blather [but then I am not a true believer; at least Andy references; you can agree or not]. It is not clear if you agreed with him or not.I am interested in the Canadian view.

Best wishes,,,,

-- Z1X4Y7 (Z1X4Y7@aol.com), December 27, 1999.

Ron Schwarz,

I had the same thought. Especially since our banned illogical spammer from Phoenix was so fascinated with Ivan that she posted that she was going to track him down. I also saw a cross-post from Debunkers on this board where she was asking how to log onto csy2k a few days ago. I would think Cory H. could confirm if this is Ivan or not...

-- (RUOK@yesiam.com), December 27, 1999.

I figured he had an agenda...but always wondered what it was. Sure he can "predict"....that is why he was wrong on the stock market...no one knows...not even he...what will happen. At best, this is interesting reading to break the monotony of most of our mundane lives. The scary thing though, is that it could be real. Most of what he is writing is accurately foretold in the Bible. There will be a Great Tribulation, but the timing is in God's hands...not some stupid computer virus at the hands of puny man. However, notwithstanding, there is still the possibility that this could trigger things. I am convinced too that the market and economy are on a bubble. If Y2k is a bump in the road...we will enter another period of boom-time...at least for the 1st and 2nd quarter...I'll have to digest and think about his post...but yeah...it's interesting reading....

Our safety at the Great Tribulation and Armageddon will not be dependent on our monetary and physical preparations. It will be totally dependent on our relationship with the Creator...and nothing else......

-- rickoshade (rickstershade@aol.com), December 27, 1999.

There is no doubt that it was Infomagic.

-- a (a@a.a), December 27, 1999.

As regards the stock market - actually Infomagic was right, I was right, Ray, a, Milne etc. etc. we were all right.

The FED and the PPT have debased the dollar even more than it is already debased in their frenzy to keep the bubble alive at all costs until y2k bursts it and y2k can take the blame for all the governmental incompetence since, oh, 1971. Sould any .commers have any profits in early 2000 it will quickly be eaten by rampant inflation, perhaps hyper-inflation, due to the assholes in charge.

Anyone who can't see this is a blithering idiot.

-- Mike Lang (webflier@erols.com), December 28, 1999.

Actually, Infomagic,- just in case you come to this site - Jesus the Human(Before His Resurrection) knew the moneychangers pretty well. That's why He made the whip from ropes to help get them out of the Temple, and said to them:"GET these things out of here! Don't turn my Father's house into a market!" They were selling sheep and doves - for "sacrifice to God",(their words)and of course "changing the money" of the Jews from out of town who had come in for Passover.

and another book of the Bible has Him saying it thusly: "It is written:'My fathers House shall be called a House of Prayer for all nations' - but YOU have turned it into a den of thieves!"

And regarding the payment of taxes, the Bible talks about how one of the Temple tax collectors came to Peter one day and asked:"Doesn't your master pay taxes???" Hmmm???(I can just see the tax collector, twirling his mustache, and wearing the appropriately evil snear.)

And Peter, being scared of the tax collector, said:"Of course He does."

And it goes on to say that he went to talk to Jesus about this. And Jesus asked him:"What do you think, Peter? Do kings levy assessments against their own people or against conquered foreigners?"

"Against the foreigners," Peter replied.

"Well then," Jesus said, "The citizens are free. However we don't want to offend them...." Jesus was saying that no one should have to pay taxes. Not citizens. And in God's Kingdom, ALL the people are citizens."My Father's House is a House of Prayer for ALL nations."

But He didn't want to tell the "authorities" to go to Hell, just yet, because He knew they would try to kill Him. And He was going to die on His terms, not theirs.

Lest anyone find this offensive, then Infomagic's article will Also be offensive, because he mentions God quite liberally throughout. And I'm only bringing this up on this Infomagic thread.

But as you can see, Infomagic - Jesus KNEW the bankers, pretty well,as the human son of God, Even beFore the Ressurection - and Becoming God the Son.

-- DB (tomG@h.com), December 28, 1999.

Former Adventist: I had a friend who was a dyed in the wool adventist. I got an earfull on several occasions about everything from their dietary stuff to their brand of biblical literalism, which is why I asked that question.

-- Ron Schwarz (rs@clubvb.com.delete.this), December 28, 1999.

I don't pretend to be an expert on Infomagic, although I like most long time lurkers here have read many of his essays....

I do believe this is a well constructed hoax... a close examination of his previous post will show a certain trademark of his that this huge posting does not. Someone has studied Infomagic's post fairly well, and parrots his style fairly well, but they forgot the fingerprint....

Look close at the real Infomagic posts... a 10 pound bag of rice to the first person to notice what was wrong in the style of this vs previous posts :)

Not Infomagic, IMHO, but a troll in need of a life...

Hint - punctuation....

-- C (c@c.com), December 28, 1999.

Hell with it, I'm keeping my rice... it's to close to rollover for games... look at the following examples of Infomagic stressing his point...

Like me with the ... sh*t... habit

"I think a lot of organizations _have_ given up on remediation in favor of fix-on-failure and there _is_ less real remediation taking place than was promised."

"I hope you were joking, Shek. I predicted that there would be _some_ failures in 1999 and some have indeed occurred (probably more than we have heard about publicly). However, neither I nor any of the other real mainframe experts have ever said the peak would be this year. The one or two who have predicted this are _wrong_. I continue to predict a "phalanx of failures" beginning at the start of _next_ year (although there will continue to be an increasing number of smaller failures this year)."

"Oops! Yes, I meant 0.9, please record as such. One of these days I really must learn to _read_ my posts before posting them!"

See for yourself, skip randomly through his_original_posts...

Nuff said...

Now that's an interesting angle, about GO - gold and oil. It would seem that Russia and the US are in about the same dire straits, as in being bankrupt and having no national 'treasures' - like the Arabs do. Like the Israelis do. Interesting. Yes. Y2K. G-O. bubble.com. and death and hades. Happy New Year.

-- DB (tomG@h.com), December 28, 1999.

rickoshade: You wrote: "Our safety at the Great Tribulation and Armageddon will not be dependent on our monetary and physical preparations. It will be totally dependent on our relationship with the Creator...and nothing else......"

You may be correct. My attempts to warn my brothers and sisters in Christ to prepare for the Y2K as a problem in itself (and as a tripwire for other greater problems) fell mostly deaf ears. This caused me to wonder about the intensity or depth of the relationship with the Creator by those said "deaf ears". By and large, much of the church (body of Christ) is heavily invested in Babylon and its' comforts and don't (didn't) want to hear the Y2K message to prepare. Many of the sheep have deluded themselves, I suspect, concerning the strength of their relationship with their King/Master/and Redeemer. When they said "I'll just trust in the Lord" and "Oh, the Lord will take care of me" they were really saying, I'll keep my wealth in the form of my "checking account" or "savings account" or "IRA" or "retirement" or "stocks" because I'm not really convinced that there is a problem or much of one or that God still speaks and appears to individuals through dreams and visions. In other words, don't bother me, don't rock my neat little world with all these unpleasantries.

I believe that many Christians will suffer far greater than they needed to but were asleep at the wheel when their warnings were being issued. I also believe that God WILL PROVIDE a place for them in heaven as many of them starve to death. We shall see.

God began giving me ominous dreams and visions in the early 90's through '96 about a time which seems to be just on the horizon.

I thought this essay was quite insightfull if not thoughtprovoking. I know that I'll not read anything quite as intellectually stimulating in my local newspaper. Not even if I add up all its' articles on Y2K in the past year. Infomagic, here, validates everything I know to be true about Y2K and which has been warned to me by my God. I, too, thought that there would be a financial crash in the spring of '99 (purely my speculation not anything from God) but I was naive about a couple things. I underestimated the ability of the TPTB to spin a lie and I overestimated the ability of the sheeple to see through a lie.

sdb, prophet of the Lord Jesus

-- S. David Bays (SDBAYS@prodigy.net), December 28, 1999.

I really meant to say: I underestimated the ability of the TPTB to spin a lie and I underestimated the willingness of the sheeple to believe it.

-- S. David Bays (SDBAYS@prodigy.net), December 28, 1999.

Z1X4Y7

What I ment by my comments was the lack of anything revealing in the essay. Very little beef and mostly potato with lots of gravy.

Lots of rehashed commentary on the US and a few minor spectulations on Y2K. Hardly worth commenting on. Hardly worth the stamp let alone the silver he asks for. This is not a well thought out article.

Reminds me more of bait for commentary than something revealing.

Mind you I do like the phrase "Bovine Scatology", that is a new one to me :o)

Really thought the biblical referances and the "pieces of silver" just rubs me the wrong way. It seems a less than humble effort, and more an ego trip. Anyone can say we are in the last days. They have been doing that for eons. What makes a person so special that they can call the times? The book is closed and I doubt that this "John" is the individual that will open it.

Y2K is a problem with mans perseptions of change and time. We are still teens with a "not now but right now" attitude. But that message has never been throughly explored. Y2K is not a biblical problem. It is our problem. Are we going to learn from it?

That is the answer I am looking for. And this essay makes me no more optimistic than before that the real problem will ever be challanged.

The 2nd infomagic touched on systems theory and chaos theory. Heady topics that have everything to do with the situation that may unfold.

This one is totally devoid of such thinking. To bad.

-- Brian (imager@home.com), December 28, 1999.

In both his prior writing and current piece he incorrectly substitutes the contraction "it's" for the possessive "its".

I wasn't looking for it -- it just caught my eye in the new piece. After his identity was questioned, I thought I'd poke into an old piece to compare.

Of course this could simply mean that the impostor did his homework.

-- eve (123@4567.com), December 28, 1999.

Good catch Watson.

-- Andy (2000EOD@prodigy.net), December 28, 1999.

But seriously, folks, the guy came up with one very interesting thesis (the devolutionary spiral). Everything else I've seen of his (I haven't yet read the whole current piece) is more or less mediocre -- IMHO, of course.

My point is that I get the impression that too many of us are treating this guy as some sort of oracle or godlike figure who's come down for another Sermon on the Mount. Well, he's just a guy who happened to have a great angle on something. Can't we just read his stuff for what it is and not who it comes from?

-- eve (123@4567.com), December 28, 1999.

My prior comment actually refers to an overall impression I had gotten over the past year and a half or so. It's good to see that most of you on this thread are not readily buying into his stuff without objective examination.

-- eve (123@4567.com), December 28, 1999.

Aaah, he's just a gold bug, like Howard Ruff and all the others. They've been beating the drums for thirty years about this stuff. Problem is, this time they're right.

And that's a big problem.

God be with you.
