Just under 100 hours until the rollover occurs in London (UTC/GMT). If the power grid and Air Traffic Control run on this time, we would start seeing problems 100 hours from now, Fri eve (7PM EST/4PM PST). Jane Garvey's flight, which is supposed to takeoff just before this time, may fall out of the sky.

Perhaps the imposition of martial law tomorrow (or marshall law for some) will reduce the effect of the problems.

Expect the Central Business Districts (CBD) of big US cities to all be in a similar state, with access to certain areas only by previous written authorization from Local Law Enforcement Offices and also requiring appropriate identification.

Carefully controlled access will last for a time period of 24 hours beginning shortly before the rollover, on Friday 12/31/99 6:00 am, and lasting shortly after rollover, until Saturday 1/1/00 6:00 am. But don't be surprised to read reports, after the fact, of time periods being extended.
