More Terrorists Arrests

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

It has been reported that another arrest has been made of an "allege" terrorist trying to cross into American Borders. With the up-coming threat of Y2k and the Federal Gov warning, fearing for terrorist attacks on American Soil especially in heavy populated areas such as New York, Los Angelas, Boston. If you have not prepared yourself for the worst then you have no one to blame but yourself if the "sh*t" hits the fan.

Agreed. What kills me is how the .gov states "that there is no positive link between any of these incidents." What? Pardon? What a crock of shit! C'mon gang...All Algerians. All from the same basic Terrorist group... I mean really. Is the Algerian based network so large that these guys never met? Not only that, but to my mind, the fact that they got caught tells me one of three things

1) These guys are real terrorists who were unfortunate enough to get caught by the best border patrol in the world (not).

2)These malooks are .gov implants to 'scare' the public away from Y2K and have ready-made scapegoats.

or 3)These guys are the second or third string sent in By Old-Salami-Been-Rotten (OSBR) with the hopes that they would be caught, thus turning our attention away from the cities, and to our borders.

The one I gravitate to is #3. My rationale is that any good op is alwas set out early, preferably with no potential for exposure. Quiet in, Quiet out. It doesn't make sense the way these four new shleprocks were bagged. Walking across the busiest border stop? Why not just hike it in? Or hop a train?

Got me a hunch OSBR sent these jokers out hoping they would get caught, but not caring if they didn't. To him its a win-win situation. If they get caught, we get spooked and watch our borders for something that already passed by long ago, and if they don't get caught, they get to add to the mayhem OSBR has planned for the rollover. Either way, somethings going to give. Hopefully, it won't be any of us.

False alarm. turned out they cannot pin ANYTHING on this latest situation. Probably arrested them because they looked like Arabs and then found they couldn't make anything stick. Can you say "oops" ?

Looks to my like everyone is on the edge of their seats over this rollover thing. Sure hope they don't "oops" and press the wrong button. You have to wonder though with the apparently high state of anticipation at the fed level.

Billy Boy... I have not worked with the U.S.B.P. on the Northern Border of the U.S. but I have worked with them on the southern border. Given that at the time I worked with them there was approximatly ONE agent for 33 miles of border... They are indeed THE BEST BORDER PATROL IN THE WORLD. Your opinion is your opinion... and just as they say... everyone has one. In my opinion your opinion makes you one... but that is just my opinion, eh? The U.S. Border patroll has the most professional para-military police force in the world... bar none. Opinion from someone who worked and trained with them.

And yes Ed. It was my team that was in El Paso in 1992. You recall the article on 60 minutes.... The day that happened was the day I was given that team. E-Systems
