What Happened Here Tonight? Merry Christmas anyway...

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

I left this morning to make the rounds of my DGI families and came back to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. It seems a Hoorah busted out here.

I just wanted to say how grateful my wife and I are that we can come to this forum and see that other people ae preparing for what may come.

We're a tad lonesome in that NOBODY (not exactly true...two friends of ours are/have prepped) seems to think anything will happen above a "zero."

This place has been a source of great info for us. Thanks.

I was just wondering what caused a sh*t explosion on Christmas?

LadyLogic did a YouKnowWho, and got her YouKnowWhat kicked YouKnowWhere!

Happy holidays! <:)=

Sysman,

The Lady that isn't is bragging all over De bunker how she slapped Ed and KoS....... from the lack of responce, I think they are also ashamed of her :-)

Hope you had a Merry, and wish all of us a Happy....

Please count me as one of the few individuals --of optimistis nature--at this late stage who does not applaud Lady Logic's tactics. I know that I am still able to post here and that I have consistently disagreed with much of what has been put forth on this board. It would be patently false to say Sysops delete all differing points of view, just as Flint's views about the Debunking Boards--posted here a day or so ago, were patently ridiculous. Yet, there is a clear seperation between the doomlit who wants apocalypse and civil unrest and the person who feels rather pessimistic about it all and has made personal preps. Point is, the former can rot in hell, while I believe the latter---like me--will breathe a sigh of relief if all of this amounts to very little.

Moreover, I construe spamming this board and at the same time bemoaning the fact that 'Pro' gets deleted as being akin to talking out of both sides of one's mouth. You know, on one hand, LL is able to post insightful prose from time to time, and yet, incidents like last night--apparently done simply to remind people that she was here---are rather disturbing. Add to this the fact that she'd like to brag about the actions on Debunking---a site I go too often---is extremely disappointing.

Point is, to LL, I share the optimistic views, but I don't understand the tactics.

Even at this late date, info is the key. Rambling polly backslapping--like doomlits who wish people to die--deserves ridicule.

I continue to hope Ed Yourdon is wrong in his assessment and I continue to hope other purveyors of doom who have been relatively silent lately are seen for what they are---opportunists who've made their money. I continue to have an optimistic slant on all of this, not because I am uninforned, or because LL pops in, but because I've done the research and have satisfied my own curiosities. At the end of it all-whenever that truly is--I don't think it should be the tactic of either side to say 'told ya so'. Like everything leading up to this point, I get the sneaking suspicion that with regards to actual y2k 'situations', the truth may never really be known by John Q.Public.
