1815 French Mantle Clock

greenspun.com : LUSENET : The Exchange: A Forum for Antiques and The Arts : One Thread

My dad has a clock handed down from his great, great grandfather. Capt. Story was born in 1790 in Gloucester, MA. Was merchant seaman and traveled all over the world. In approximately 1815, he brought home to his first wife a mantle clock from France. They had been married in 1812, she died in 1839, and family story is that 1815 is the best guess for acquisition date. The clock is supposedly in near mint condition, has roman numerals on face and the words "C__ Barthet A. Marseille" on face. Also, double swans with necks pendulum. Can anyone help me find a website that might provide information about origin of clock?
