tim (another counter of my and D-M's acquaintance) came along for this trip. we were counting seperate tables and signalling the other in whenever we had a good count. then we'd both play the same table. worked pretty well... got into a lot of good counts.

tim's 'act' consists of sitting there like a lump and staring at all the cards as they come out of the shoe. this proved to be useful to me because i got to catch a whiff of management's attitude to this sort of thing. on three different occasions a pit boss or dealer came straight out and told tim that "we don't mind card counters here"... and sure enough, no counter-measures were taken. i will still choose not to reveal myself... management & attitudes can change (can't they david?). i will use practically zero cover though.

only claimed 1/4 time on session five because i was playing to a smaller unit (because of limited funds on hand)

(SF) vancouver

how did your interview go? did you get a new job?

i would be very interested in going to vancouver with you... not yet sure if it will be feasible. i'll let you know soon.

(SF) won't be going to vancouver soon.

sorry, can't join you. i've got a lot of coordinating to do between now and january... and i'm not that coordinated to begin with :^)

you should definitely go, tho. go buy yourself a map of vancouver (and surrounding area) and find the addresses to the casinos in the yellow pages or on the web. write to D-M for conditions at each. convert some cash ahead of time. mid-week is best. crossing border late at night will be best as well. there is a cheap ($30cad/night) motel about half a mile from the great canadian casino in newton. i recomend staying there and giving the newton casino a lot of your action.

let me know what you decide to do.

I'm really wondering about that (ES)

on three different occasions a pit boss or dealer came straight out and told tim that "we don't mind card counters here"... and sure enough, no counter-measures were taken.

I mean, every time we hit there we seem to get clobbered. Are we really, really sure that their "countermeasure" isn't removing half the tens and aces?? (only partially kidding.)

I'm still planning on Vancouver (as in, the mainland, where I can't get stranded with a dead car :-) some time this week. Let me know if you're joining in on the fun. I don't even have to show up at Boeing at all, since I resigned and turned in my badge on Thursday. :-) :-)

FREE! FREEEEEEEEEE!!! I'M FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

Job stuff (ES)

Yes, I'm employed, but I can't talk about it. They take their nondisclosure rather seriously.

Let me know about Vancouver. I have no scheduled plans this week -- yet -- and can go whenever. I would prefer to be back no later than the evening of the 30th, however.
