Story about the bible code appeared on the net. Was a headerliner at www.worldnetdaily.com last night... but pulled entirely today it seems, I couldnt even find it as a Y2K article where they usually move stories, but perhaps its there somewhere LINK IS BELOW, active tonight.

While it would obviously be a hazardous exercise to make predictions from the above suggested linkages, it is quite curious that what is suggested falls in line with concerns expressed by NOAA spokesmen about the risks of heavy sun storms downing power systems and disabling satellites and telecommunications. Some of the above linkages also suggest various Y2K-bug-related difficulties.

In a later article in this Digest, we will describe another collection of codes and ELSs, the Corona-GPS Cluster. This cluster contains interesting findings such as "corona" seven times, "GPS" a total of 10 times, telecommunications three times, "overwhelm" twice, plus single appearances of "no electricity," "power" and "TV receiver," among others. It is located in the text that begins with the 15th word of the 85th verse and extents through the 11th word of the 86th verse. These are only two of numerous clusters within the extended colony of Numbers 7 codes. In subsequent issues, we will cover some of the other interesting clusters we have discovered.

I've always considered God as being pretty plain spoken about what will happen. So...where do you get these 'hidden' codes from? I recall someone posting about hidden codes in the bible predicting the 10th of this month as the day Russia was going to nuke us. Hmmm...Did I miss it? The sunspots and solar flares and Y2K are real deals...but this kind of crap with all these 'knowledgeable' people 'predicting' stuff from the bible is getting real old...

Let God worry about what he will do and when he will do it. Like I posted [which was deleted] When does God answer to us? Like the so-called 'Christians' wanting to bomb the mosque in Isreal to bring on the apaocalypse....when does that entitle God to halting his plans because someone else changed the game plan???

Santana, No one even bothers to say which version of the Bible--as if there was only one. The Bible says many things but only those whose inner ears have been opened can hear them. We know nothing, so relax. Very few know/are capable of knowing. But we can all pray.

Search "Bible Codes" and you'll pull up some amazing websites. My favorite was the "MOBY DICK CODES", wherein the authors accepting the challenge of teh rabbis who orignated the Bible Coeds, to find assassinations of major political figures "encrypted" in Melville. Fascinating and hilarious results. One page in Moby Dick details teh death of Princess diania, her driver Henri Paul, and gives numerous other details fo the event re which Melville had no foreknowledge. Truly amazing. Call Mr. Ripley.

The Bible Codes page that was referenced here pointed to TEVET 1, 5760 as the date of a nuclear attack -- December 9-=10, 1999, which, blessedly, passed without event. I'm not so much a skeptic, as one who recognizes that even God can change his mind and fudge dates -- witness Jonah and the destruction of Nineveh. NOT! Got enough real things to fret over without figuring the Great Goof has pegged D-Day and I need to know it in advance.

I've read the book "The Bible Code" written by Michael Drosnin in 1997. Supposedly another holocaust was to have happened in 1996. Well we are still here. Personally, I don't think there is anything whatsoever biblical about this line of study. In fact, I think it would be in everyones best interests to stear clear of the so called bible codes.

No offense intended, but this looks like the Bible Meets Numerology. References to matching numbers of letters, etc, is pretty weak stuff. I agree with an earlier post. The Bible as we know it is, for the most part, plain talk. Somehow, this "code" stuff lacks credibility.
