IT IS TOO LATE FOR DISCUSSION

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

I have been visiting and participating in this forum for 1.5 years and have never seen it this busy.

I can only assume that this forum is now being visited by DGI's getting it (and for you novi -- becoming GIs)

This is pathetic, as it is too late to do anything much other than buy a lot of canned soup and maybe a dozen guns.

YOU ARE TOO LATE TO BECOME INTERESTED. YOU ARE BEHIND THE PROVERBIAL CURVE. YOU ARE PATHETIC POLLYS TRYING TO JOIN A CLUB THAT JUST BR0KE UP AND RAN FOR THE HILLS.

Good night

canned food and water might make all the difference in the world to someone who may have otherwise gone without. hogwash.

Some remain.

Everyone who has some canned goods, water, and a way to heat his or her home -- we have an inch of new snow this morning! -- is one less person that we have to worry about dropping in on us for a handout.

Best of luck to the new GIs -- Eat that elephant one bite at a time, but start eating quickly!

That's backwards. It's too late for anything *but* discussion.

That was probably true two years ago...

Look a little closer and I think you will see that this forum is now being visited by more trolls making up stories that continue to sucker the GI's.

That's right....too late for discussion. So let's spend the next week just screaming at each other. If I can't get reason, I'll settle for catharsis. Line up all you suckers, and take your heat......sheesh.

Call me the worst of sentimentalists, but given what season it is, and that we'll all find out who's right and who's wrong, very shortly, can't we just spend the remaining time talking to each other, with some modicum of decency and respect? Is it really going to kill anyone, to exercise just a little restraint?

I know....silly idea. Resume fire, but remember, it is never a mistake to say goodbye.

There's still a day or two to prep. Go for it. Consumer goods will be of great value next year...

Boks,

Yours has always been a voice of reason on this forum. Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukkah, or just peaceful holidays to you and yours.

Too late? I can't see how that's true. It MAY be too late to finish, but it's not too late to start!

I've had this idea that--with compounding errors--some shutdowns/layoffs/other impacts and effects will be DELAYED, allowing us a little further time to prepare in the new year.

Make the most of it friends!

I agree Kurt, I believe a "window of opportunity" may still exist. NOW is a better time than later to start. Everyone will be scrambling in a short time. Any head start is better than no head start. May you successfully get enough to get you thru. Good Luck!!
