"THREAT ADVISORY TO UTILITIES - Adding to the tension late Thursday was a threat advisory being circulated to the nations electric utilities, including operators of nuclear power plants, warning them to be on the lookout for a blue 1989 Mitsubishi van with Texas license plates that had earlier been the subject of an FBI alert.

Expect the vehicle to be carrying explosives, read the electric industry warning, which sources said was being circulated by the North American Electric Reliability Council with the approval of law enforcement officials. The advisory added that the van was last seen in the Washington, D.C. area with two Middle Eastern males in the vehicle. It was not clear why the utilities believed they were likely targets or why they were focused on the van."

Too weird. If the FBI puts out over the newswire to be on the lookout for a blue 1989 Mitsubishi van with Texas license plates, do they think the suspects will still be driving that van?

LOL, really any terrorist with half a brain would ditch that sucker and get a new set of wheels. Who knows...maybe we have a couple of dumb and dummer types with explosives.

Come on, as dangerous as our roads are here in the US (esp. DC!) and they're stupid enough to be driving a van full of explosives on these highways?! I would not put any measure of stupidity passed these suspects!

How could they _not_ find such a van? Texas plates in DC are almost literally one in a million.

Amazing!

The mysterious "blue van" is no longer being searched for in Dee Cee. The local NEWS (supported by the National Enquirer?) said that the information suggesting that the "blue van" had hostile intentions has been debunked.

What gets me is the high IQ involved in trying to carry boxes maked "EXPLOSIVES" around in a van with windows all around, like the Mitsu van the media was showing pictures of. Kinda like if somebody was doing that they wanted someone to see the markings on the boxes.

A real terrorist would use an enclosed vehicle, like the Oklahoma City bombers. I somehow think this sighting was a set-up so that there would be something else for the media to bark at. So what's next, Abdullah and Achmed pull up to the gate at the Times Square parking garage in a semi with "Explosives" placards displayed, with camera crews from all the networks on-hand as they do?

It just seems to me like we're seeing some pretty clumsy set-ups to me. I wonder what they're trying to throw everyone off-track of?
