Konica FP-1 Question

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Konica 35mm SLRs : One Thread

I know the Konica FP-1 was the only Konica SLR with a full program mode but did it also give you the option of shooting manually and/or with shutter-priority like the other Konica SLR's? Thanks in advance for any information.

Re: Konica FP-1 Question

Dan, In a nutshell, the answer is no. The FP-1 was a rare marketing error by Konica. They sought to reprise the success in the SLR field that they had in the viewfinder crowd, by making a camera that took all the effort out of exposure. While technically successful in that area, they made a camera without the slightest ability to take input from the photographer aside from setting the ASA/ISO speed. I think, personally, their efforts should not have extended beyond the FC-1 and FS-1 when they introduced the new F-series line.
