SHERI posted this long CA update way below.

Read this statement regarding MARIN COUNTY and tell me if this is possible.........

[snip]

......Of all Bay Area counties, Marin may have gotten the earliest jump on the Y2K problem. The county began ensuring that its six ``mission critical'' systems were Y2K compliant as far back as 12 years ago. The last computer system update was in payroll and in the property tax division four and six years ago, respectively. ``We've been very active on the Y2K situation,'' said Ben Dresden, the county's director of information services and technology. ``I feel quite confident that our systems will function properly.''

Here is Marin County Government's webpage....

I do know originally there was a Grand Jury investigation and report is on this webpage. The citizens have done tons there getting other citizens to wake up including holding block parties in September.

As far as their claims of long-time compliance - not sure -all was not nor is rosy in Marin according to people I know - but again, the citizens have done a lot!

Here's a thought. If it's true (ha!) that everything is 99%/100% done, then doesn't that mean Marin overreacted? Let's all berate them for not leaving it to the last minute like more patriotic areas did... ;)

Servant......

Berate them..Not me. I,m just amazed they got this large a jump on the rest of this country.

Great foresight! I'm still asking the rest of our country could not have done the same?
