First Reaction to Poisonwood Bible December 22, 1999

This required reading of the fictional Poisonwood Bible focuses on a negative view of the Christian culture. The preacher often called by other cultures a wasp, had a vision but lacked wisdom. To sell everything from under his family, then drag them to the other side of the world, to prove his devotion to God was a disaster. The books anti traditional viewpoint is something that might be understood by a seasoned proponent of the offended doctrines, but most readers of this material do not understand that it is an attack on one culture in a fictitious way through misrepresentation of basic foundational truths and should be only given compliments on the colorful style the author uses which unfortunately covers the bigoted content she expresses. Is she being creative or destructive?
