Any Comments on New CanoScan FS2710 Film Scanner

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I'm in the market for a mid-priced film scanner and came across the CanoScan FS2710 scanner. I can't seem to find any technical reviews. Has anybody heard of this scannner or purchased this model? What experiences have you had with the scanner? How does it compare with the new HP Photosmart 20xi? Thanks.

I own the CanoScan FS 2710. It is a very nice scanner. I have only used it with 35mm Negs so far, and it has produced very good results. It was very easy to setup & use. The one note is that you only get the 36 bit scans from within a Twain compliant application (ie. Photoshop). It comes with Photoshop LE, but I prefer the full version.
