December 28th???

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Ok, I should have copied and pasted the post but I didn't. I just read on another board that a lady went into her bank and during the process remarked "So, are you ready for y2k?" And the bank employee replied, "Well, we're ready for December 28!"

What the heck is that supposed to mean?

Yesterday my mother-in-law visited us. I have been keeping her up-to-date with the postings I read on this web-site so, she could not believe what happened at the bank Saturday. She happened to see the manager of the bank and remarked to him, "so, are you guys ready for y2k?"

His answer, "Well... We're ready for December 28th."

I dropped my jaw when she told me!!!!

Maybe these women in the bank were talking about when they might ovulate or something?

Reckon we'll find out soon enough if there's any substance to this.

The 28th is the standard payday for salaried employees who are paid monthly. Those that don't deal with direct deposit may be taking that day to withdraw additon funds. Those who do have direct deposit usually have their funds posted the day before, and they too may be coming in for extra cash. Banks have been generally forecasting that day as a peak day for withdrawals.

Ok, let's settle down. Phooey.

How do expect us to settle down with ovulating women????

And to think some might mudwrestle? My millenium is complete.

Sorry couldn't resist.

Folks these doggone boards are more interesting and fun, than say, arguing and fussing with the wifeperson. It is addictive, I just cannot turn loose. College credits should be awarded for these boards. I have seen more intelligence here in a short week than I have seen in the news media in fifty years. I love you all.

Hmmm...December 28th? Is that the day that martial law will be imposed or could it be the first business day after Christmas: The Day the Sheeple All Woke Up?

I'm for the latter. The banker may be a GI and expects the hoard to descend on the 28th. Anyone want to be a bank teller or a clerk at Costco, Price Club, OSH on the 28th?

Hey, King! If its raining on the 28th I quarantee you that you will see mud wrestling women outside your bank.
