what is the original file inside the CDI directory for video CD ?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

I created video CD with nero 4.07.5 (RICOH WR]TER) but this video CD could not play on sony mpegplayer. when I checked this cd I saw 4 directory (CDI,EXT,MPEGAV,VCD) When I checkhed inside those directory only one CDI directory file are different with original video CD.

my video CD CDI files 1. Cdi_imag ( rich text format) 2. Cdi_text.fnt (FNT file) 3. Cdi_vcd.app ( APP file) 4. Cdi_vcd.cfg ( CFG file) ??????

original video CD CDI files 1. Cdi_all ( rich text format) 2.Cdi_font.fnt (FNT file) 3.Cdi_vcd.app ( APP file) 4.Cdi_bum (DAT file)

I tried mpeg file and also .dat file. they didn't work. If you give me any idea I would be appreciated.

By the way, don't bother with the CDI directory so much if you are going to play it on that Sony. The CD-I directory is there just in case someone plays that VCD on a Philips CD-I player with a digital video cartridge. Most legit movie VCDs in fact, if you check, (and pirated ones as well), do not even have this CDI directory; it's assumed most anyone who cares will have a full-blooded VCD player, which only needs to see the contents of the EXT, VCD, MPEGAV, and (if there is one) SEGMENT tracks. Something else is wrong with your VCD and/or creation/playback setup.
