greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Hello, I hadn't seen this article posted yet, and I thought it was interesting. Its from The Washington Post, and is entitled ' Area masses workers, supplies, plans for y2k'

I dont know how to get a link here, and it wont let me cut and paste.

Some of the topics are: " Loudon County, whose office has bought gas masks in case deputies need to use tear gas on New year's weekend to breakup crowds angered by y2k problems'

and ' 37 foot long Mobile command Center' not to mention how much food and water they have stored, a mention of portable stop signs? If anyone can link this, please do, and if I got it wrong, please email me so I can send the link or go to WND, under y2k.

Thanks! Daniellejh@aol.com http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/wplate/1999-12/19/2551-121999idx.html

Danielle,

The direct link to the story seems to have expired (!?), but here's a previous thread that seems to carry the entire text of it:
