Is the School Bus Burying Bruce Beach the same *expert* on embedded chips that is often quoted here?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Check out Drudge today....two articles about a Bruce Beach that has buried 42 buses in preparation for Y2K.......Is this the same wingnut that is quoted here as an expert on embedded chips quite frequently?

Seriously, I hope not. The Doomers better have someone more credible than this guy for the whole embedded chip/system thing.

EMBEDDED SYSTEMS AND THE YEAR 2000 PROBLEM

-- (credible@info.rmation), December 20, 1999.

Or what, you'll stop believing Y2K is an issue altogether. Or you'll stop frequenting this board? Get stuffed Craig.

It was him dude, we're all tinfoils, I'm really not a crude analyst for a huge fucking oil company. Andy's really not a metals trader from London who know's more than you ever will about everything. Ed Yardeni is really just some quack that managed to work his way up through the second largest bank in the world by being stupid. Rick Cowles really isn't a "juice" guru, he's just a lineman from chicago who hangs wire from a cherry picker. And Warren Bone, well you know he's an eraser banger from texas.

Happy New Years you freaking idiots.

Quite frankly I wish I had a bus or two of my own given my proximity to some nuclear reactors. But you go on out there and keep believing you know shit about shinola.

Yes we have a whole bunch of embedded systems architects, electrical and electronic engineers and folks directly involved in embedded system remediation whose opinion has been expressed here and in more public arenas. Just because the wingnut believes what he believes doesn't mean it's not going to happen. Check out the NIST link provided by 'credible'.

Could it be...that I'm not really a...KOOK???

Nah,

Kookster

'Scuse me...Uh, Gordo... on your lip... no, the other side... yup... there ya go. I think you got it all. What was that? Drool? Calm down a little. You're really starting to lose it.

Yes, Brucie does indeed have a colony of buried school buses. He calls it Ark 2.

And Andy believes David Icke is on to a great many things. What, I don't know. I don't think any drug in the known universe produces illusions of the Queen Mother as a metamorphic reptile from Mars.

Don't believe the last one?

Wow! this thread was just getting interesting. Gordon, you are a poet. I was going to comment, but I think I will slip out quietly instead.

Yes, Bruce Beach is also an expert on embedded buses. He may know as much as anyone in the world about them.

Hey Lineman,

My heartfelt apologies. The reason I get so heated about this stuff is that I have friends who are at refineries and pipelines and will be during the roll. I may work in corporate offices, but it was not that many years ago that I was swinging a paintbrush from a ladder.

I simply don't wan't to see those people hurt. They're good folks and they deserve better. Every time I hear someone making us all sound like kooks I go ballistic these days. I'm having quite the time biting my tongue.

Please, please accept my apologies. I expressed myself poorly there.

-- Gordon (g_gecko_69@hotmail.com), December 20, 1999.

Gordon... I accept and please accept mine,it is gut-wrenching to think of the times we live in,the "All mighty dollar",seems to control our every move, maybe we need to think about what is happening to us as people, there is just not enough room for everyone to have as much as they would like,I just feel a little appreciation should be directed towards the "Little Man",and I don't envy your job,I am sure there are pressure's that I would not want, thats why I do what "I do",I am sorry for losing my temper, and should have thought a little more before replying, sincerely.

SysOps -

Did my humourous posting (which seems to have been deleted) get misinterpreted?

My intention was to make a self-deprecating remark about the Canadian inferiority complex. (I did forget to annotate the requisite emoticon to the end of the post.) We (Canadians) seem to think we can't produce the best. Beach is the best prepared survivalist in Canada. Therefore it figures that we'd have to import him from the States. It was a joke; albeit not a great one.

Or did the use of the "w" word strike you as too pejorative?

Also, why was the post above mine seemingly deleted as well? It was pretty funny and it was posted, I think, by a person with a track record of non-polly postings. Are jokes (and fairly mild jokes at that) made at the expense of ultra-doomers (like Beach) now off limits, even by those on the more pessismistic side of the fence?

Just wondering.

SysOps - Never mind.

Ooops, I got confused - there are 2 Beach threads. I checked the wrong one (I should have checked Ray's).

Johnny (wanting to use the excuse of the flu to explain his addled mind, but can't)
