What was the lighting used and how? It makes the photo.

Interesting concept, but the forground lighting is a little too harsh for my taste. Was it hit with multiple flashes from a point light source? BTW, I think the image is a success in the sense that it is anything but boring. I'd keep experimenting with foreground light sources....

The picture is mostly the idea of my nephew, Mike Heckwolf. We spent about 10 minutes painting the river with our 3-d cell maglight flashlights. We also tried multiple flash but the result was too uneven. I spent too much time lighting the foreground rapids, but I've noticed that the result looks like a Christmas Angel.
