What horror writers were inspired by Poe?

Who were inspired by Poe to write horror stories and films? Are there any criticisms about his work, and if there is, send them to me, please. Are the works of the authors the same kind of plot and ending? What two authors can you say can be credited as the "The King of Horror"?

In actuality there are two authors that have made a big impact because of Poe, the first is H.P. Lovecraft who wrote the stories of Cthulhu and the outer gods (and who a lot of times wrote stories from the point of madmen-ex. Tell Tale Heart). the other author of note that was influenced was Stephen King, King was heavily influenced by Lovecraft (who in turn was influenced by Poe) and by Poe himself. I have seen a couple of interviews with King in which he states that, sorry that I cant remember the names of the shows that had it. Hope this helps some.

I believe Alfred Hitchcock was also inspired by Edgar Allan Poe.

To those looking for an author to compare to Poe I would recommend a book entitled "House on the Borderland" by William Hope Hodgson. It is readily available in paperback. Although my copy has a copyright date of 1983 and is stated to be a first edition,I first read it in the early 1960's. I also was told that the original story dates back to 1906. I have not researched this last statement.

I know for sure, Horacio Quiroga (an uruguay writer) was inspired by Poe, if you like Poe you should read "Cuentos de amor locura y muerte" they are excellent! I strongly recomend them.
