24hr Internet discussion on Y2K

A 24-hour Internet discussion forum has been set up for companies to notify and discuss Y2K developments as they arise. Set up by consultancy KPMG and the British Bankers Association, the site will collate information world-wide from a wide variety of public and private sources, including official government websites, news agencies, local KPMG staff and individual organisations.

The Millennium starts at 1000 hrs GMT December 31st in the Christmas Islands, and according to a recent report from the CIA, the countries most at risk from the date change over the following 24 hours include Russia (1200 hrs - 2100 hrs GMT December 31st), China 16.00 hrs, India 16.30 hrs, Indonesia 1700 hrs, Ukraine and Egypt 2200 hrs.

The forum, which is discrete, closed group, will be available until the beginning of April 2000. It is open to existing subscribers to the KPMG/BBA Year 2000 Research Centre. More information can be found at the main website .
