I,ve just about leant everything about digital photograghy from either books or just luck,but i cant find any imformation on changing b&w to colour.Please can you help.

If you want to change the image type from 8 bit grayscale to for example 24 bit colour all you need is imaging software that can do this. Suggest trying Adobe Photoshop or Corel Photopaint or there are cheaper ones which have less features. Simple matter of changing the image type once you have the image loaded in the software. After that if you wish to add colour to these images you can do so using the same software.
