CPR (Charles Rueben) Missing In Action !!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

All Points Bulletin out for the illustrious CPR (the man that programs in 9 languages). I just checked Russ Kelly's "Experts y2k Rating Site" and it seems that CPR has fallen off the radar screen.

Can anyone shed some light on this mystery?? Here is the link to

CPR's last estimate for the Russ Kelly site was that Y2k would only be a 0.5 (zero point five) on a 0 to 10 scale. I would say it's a CYA move. The oil embargo of 1973 itself had a more than 0.5 impact on the U.S. and CPR probably doesn't want that 0.5 prediction on the record anymore as we get close to the rollover.

They left his comments on the remarks section.

Perhaps our favorite sysops managed to him DELETED.

Hey Ray, if you'd like to end your term as a mushroom, please feel free to stop on over to the Debunking site. There, you'll find that cpr, Doc, Dirt Road, Patricia and many others post news from real sources (italicize that) and have up-to-date info.

No, I am sure cpr is flattered about your concern.

Oh, who IS Russ Kelly, anyway?

Say Bad Company, obviously this has all gone "Over Your Head". I'll be kind and attempt to explain it to you.

Your Illustrious Leader was a member of the Russ Kelly "Experts y2k Opinion Poll" for over a year. All of a SUDDEN he dropped off after his 0.5 November 99 predictioc.

Please let me know if you need additional help!!

Your Pal, Ray

Great, Ray. Who IS Russ Kelly, again and uh, what does it matter? Still clinging to hope 14 days before the rollover, eh bud? Take a deep breath. The public will forget. Really.

Well Bad Company, do you think it might be possible that your Illustrious Leader requested that his predictions be deleted from Russ Kelly's site? Hey, maybe he's AFRAID of being WRONG!!

Your Pal, Ray

Say Bad Company, just a thought, maybe you could convince your Leader to stop by and EXPLAIN why his predictions are no longer posted to the Russ Kelly site.

Great find, Ray!

Ray, amble on over to the debunking site to see cpr's answer to your posting. (Yeah, I know. Like snoozer before you, it wasn't you that posted the news. You've got a rep to protect.)

Bad Company...

You said: "Yeah, I know. Like snoozer before you, it wasn't you that posted the news. You've got a rep to protect."

That issue has been dealt with and forgotten with your apology (thank you), why revisit it?

-- snooze button (alarmclock_2000@yahoo.com), December 17, 1999.

Uh, Snooze? The apology was provisional, of course. Since we can never know for sure whether the exact same post---at the exact same time---appeared on both sites was actually from you, I'll have to give the benefit of the doubt. And that's it.

And yet, more and more spam eminates from the hypocrite society here. You know, DELETE!,DELETE!DELETE! the polly trolls for posting here...and then go spam Debunking.

So let me repeat my earlier words: if it wasn't you, please accept the apology. If it was you, then you know what you can do.
