This is shows my route from 23 to 24. At this point I was quite tired and was running/jogging/walking together with Dan.

Now that the heat, or cold, of the race has faded from memory I can sit back and analyze this. I ran straight north out of the control to the road. I didn't see the trail I suppose, but apparently Swampfox took the trail and was ahead of me as I headed down the road. I cut across the open area just a bit north of the line and I think I crossed the creek with or near the trail. I climbed across the hillside on the trail and through the break in the fence. This was quite a muddy area, but of course most of the course was slop by this time. I headed downhill towards the control and stopped short in the first bunch of reentrants, then decided I should continue on towards the right set of reentrants. I didn't see anyone on this leg, so Swampfox must have gained his big lead almost entirely on this leg.
