And Tom Benjamin. And Rick Cowles, too. And look at that: there's Dick Mills. How the heck did he get in there? ;-)

Lane,

That was most excellent. Very well done and Bonnie too! That gal certainly knows how to speak her brilliant mind.

Awesome Lane.

I really appreciate your articles, they have meant alot to me.

Alot of folks have said that I am worrying to much. I am not worried at all. This is just simply the best drama that you could possibly find anywhere. No book, TV show, or movie could ever come close to the excitement this story offers.

RE: Dick Mills

"3) I do think January 3 at 1600 Zulu time is the peak risk [that is, 4:00 p.m. UTC, 11:00 a.m. ET]."

I LOVE IT! Down to the exact hour of highest risk. Glad he and Rick believe the risk is minimal.

Now, who said the risk is minimal? ;-) Take another read - and if that's what you come away with, then I did a lousy job of answering the questions.

I've tried to attack this whole Y2k thing from a risk management perspective from the git-go. I don't think there's any question that the risks of immediate, significant failures of electricity supply systems are much lower today than they were two years ago. That doesn't mean that risk is minimal - in some respects, we may have put off immediate Y2k failures at the risk of longer term system reliability issues. I *do* think (and have for quite some time; please go back and read my CBN interview from last year) that there is a longer term component to this problem than is being acknowledged.
