AmeriKan Media...Or "Has Tass come to America"?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Don't want to be paranoid... but I think I am starting to see shades of pink in the printed and electronic media. It has become obvious that the press is following the 'party line' as concerns y2k. No serious investigative reporting... repeating the same party line mantra " three day storm ...subtle ( and not so subtle ) linking people who prepare to religious fanatisism or militia types.

I think about the old days in the USSR when everyone knew the media was under the thumb of Gov't. I am hearing more and more of pending news 'blackouts' during rollover to the effect that we morons shouldn't know anything until the gov't filters it through their " Which way is the political wind blowing?" machine.

I think that soon we are going to look back to this time and wonder how we could have possibly missed all the obvious signs of of the imminent demise of our free and uncensored press. I won't be able to say "I told you so" These forums will be closed due to their 'subversive and dangerous content".

Sadly, this crap started decades ago in the USA. Most folks have never known anything else, and don't believe that media is biased.

Dan Rather is, after all, very good looking...

I like to see how they will do that, There are a lot of sattelites out there that rebroadcast foreighn TV stations.

If your concern would be true then EVERY country in this world would be part of this conspiration.... Dream on.... I can see:

TV from Iran, Irak, Turkey,Saudi Arabia, South Africa 8 western europe countries and quite a few Asian, Russian, South America direct transmissions and live feeds on C and KU band. And there are even more that I don't have identified yet for lack of interest.

All those are in on the media blackout consiracy?

Dream on bubba.

Sadly, when I mentioned "reglious fanatisism" in my above post ,I believe it will be considered such to proclaim that you are a Christian and that you believe that Jesus shed his blood for our salvation. "End times".. scoff if you must but the true believers are starting to seriously talk about the parallel present events ,and the biblical prophecies.

I am 55 years old and only recently became a Christian. I too avoided any effort to convert. I first tried to find a religion or philosophy that would fit my 'lifestyle'

Should I apoligise for using this forum to espouse Christianity? ..Yes ...I apoligise.

Citizen,

Never apologize for defending principle. Abuse of that defense is a different story. You've stated you brief case in defense thereof and no apologies are necessary. I'm sure some on the forum might disagree but then, we are a diverse lot.
