THE MOTHER OF ALL Y2K WEB SITES LIST

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Sonoma County : One Thread

Dear Y2kWatcher,

Last week I asked for your recommendations on Y2k monitoring sites. Here are the top three recommendations based on your responses. (Thanks to all who made suggestions.)

Zone 2000 - J.R. Whipple and Associates http://www.jrwhipple.com/z2k (I hope Mr. Whipple has ample bandwidth. This was by far the most mentioned of all the Y2k monitoring sites. Small sites like this sometimes can't handle lots of traffic.)

International Y2K Cooperation Center http://www.iy2kcc.org/GlobalStatus.htm

Davis Logic http://www.davislogic.com/watch.htm (This one is my personal favorite.)

If you're curious about what time zone experience the year 2000 first, go here: http://www.timeanddate.com/y2k/first2000.html

Web sites suggested by other Y2kWatchers include the following:

Command Center Strategies http://www.russkelly.com/commandcenters.html (includes a list of more monitoring sites)

Christian Computing Magazine http://www.gospelcom.net/ccmag/

Emergency Preparedness (Canada) http://www.epc-pcc.gc.ca/hottopics/what_hot/y2k.html

Federal Emergency Management Association (US) http://www.fema.gov/y2k/

New Zealand - Millennium Events http://www.watchnz.govt.nz/

For those who speak French... http://www.apibq.org/

Australia - Emergency Management and Y2K http://www.ema.gov.au/y2kfr.htm

And if that isn't enough for you, here is a list of even more Y2k monitoring sites.

The Gadwall Group http://www.gadwall.com/y2k/event/

Hope this helps.
