Hamburg sets up bunker in case of Y2K travel glitch

HAMBURG, Germany (December 14, 1999 10:03 a.m. EST http://www.nandotimes.com) - The city of Hamburg is setting up a bunker under the main railway station to shelter travelers in case the millennium computer bug causes a power cut at the turn of the century.

Sanitary facilities and camp beds for thousands of people will be available in the station bunker.

A building at the city airport is also being fitted out with camp beds, a field kitchen, blankets and warm clothing in case Y2K computer problems disrupt flights.
