Putting An End To Slander ... Sign Me Up

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

While it has always been true that this forum's regulars (at least 95%) are highly committed to helping their neighbors and communities and hope/pray Y2K will be a BITR, the foum is slandered repeatedly on the basis of troll posts, both doomer and polly.

Big Dog,

I've been sorting out all the printouts from both Forum this past couple of days.Judging from the tenor of most of those earlier threads the vast majority of forum members showed an immense curiosity & willingness to help each other. Many of us no longer post because the intensity & feeling on the Forum has changed. In addition,we seen it all before.Perhaps it is "wishing for the moon" to see a return to those earlier less stressful days.

However,I second your resolution !

Somehow, with about 18 days to go, does it really matter? Honestly, there is the "law of diminishing returns" that would pretty much dictate that the effort required to get everyone to stop the "troll wars" and devote complete undivided attention to getting people to prepare for Y2K is just not going to pay off.

Don't get me wrong, in principle you are right. And principle is always worth fighting for, to the end.

But, alas, there is reality. And the reality is that it is at this point just too late to do anything but ring in the new year and watch what happens.

Powerful just as it is, son. Don't let 'em discount the message.

Agreed Big Dog. What can be done at this date? Even to prepare now would be seen as panic-induced. I hope we are all ready for any "storm" that may pass our way. On one hand, I am all for TEOTWAWKI simply from what our government and the international bankers have done to this country; on the other, I may know and love some of the casualties that may arise out of such a scenario. We will all know within a month or so. Peace to all. Bear arms, or wear chains.
