Funny you mentioned that POW camp in Opelika, AL; I used to run by it every day when I was attending Auburn University.

IMHO, it's gonna take a lot more than "renovation" to fix that place. All that was remaining a few years ago was about 6 concrete blocks and two feet of barbed wire.

Nice try, though.

(1) "Camp Krome" -- this is a holding facility for illegals, mostly Cubans.. Has been usead as such sine the 80's.

(2)Ft. Indiantown Gap is a reserve center and used for training. It is somewhat run down, but still used frequently.

Under Georgia, "Columbia" should be Columbus! Lived there for quite some time while the hubby did his three years at Benning. Became a mommy at Martin Army Hospital! And I will always have a soft spot in my heart for Phenix City AL and Opelika, Alabama. That is so much fun to say! Say it out loud! Opelika (the i is a loooong i not an e sound) Alabama. There! You sounded just like Forest Gump! Hee hee.

Glad we are not near Ft. Hood or Mexia or Amarillo. What? No concentration camp near Big D?

Wendy,

Virginia has an old Nike missle site in Chesapeake, VA. It has a high fence with razor wire, guard towers, and -- get this!!! A building which currently serves as a SCHOOL for troubled youth. Can you imagine, if it happened to fall into the conspiracy theory jig of "concentration camps", can you imagine the audacity of hiding it in a running school? Can you imagine the degree of institutionalization the kids attending there suffer? The threat of parents when their kids misbehave is "you better behave, or I'm gonna drop you off at the Nike plant!"

Strange days indeed.

I have seen a similar list about every 4-6 months. It is useless. I have tried to check out the Buffalo NY site...of course there is no address or even a hint of one, so I emailed the last person to send me such a list. They responded back with some crap about not knowing exactly where some of the sites are.

As far as I am concerned info of this type is probably "white-noise" submitted by the feds themselves.

How in the world will our govt whose military is scattered throughout the world mobilize millions of people and imprison them. Oh I forgot, the Russians and Germans that are hiding in the desert will come get us riding their bikes since there will be no fuel.

You need more specifics on the site in Marsailles IL. I searched carefully, and found nothing. There is an Army Reserve training center in that area. It is fenced, and they have military equipment. but isn't that what you would expect at a training center?

curious.

-- curious (chexitout@nix.nut), December 13, 1999.

It is mentioned under Wyoming a site named East Yellowstone. I have been all over NW Wyoming and have never have seen or come across anything that will constitute as a soon to be concentration camp. I would like to see the evidence for this one. Thankyou!

Correction for Florida: It's not Elgin AFB, it's Eglin. I should know - I'm twenty miles from there. No signs of any human-relocation camps anywhere within the base or any of the reserve land I've seen. Eglin isn't currently set up for ANY sort of mass-containment of unruly humanoids.

BUT...

Eglin AFB, its radial fields and bases (Hurlburt, Harris Field, et al) and reserve/training areas cover over 800 THOUSAND acres across three counties, and could be made into a HUGE pen if desired on marginaly short notice.

(I have base access and live close to there, so I have a good bead on what they're up to for a civilian. God knows I see enough prototype aircraft... They routinely night-test aircraft that make almost NO noise!)

So that one's officially shot down, although possible in the future. (I know, bad choice of words. ;-D)

Thanks guys for your input. From your input I now know that this list is just a scam. I'm very relieved!

Interesting about Camp Hill PA. Yes there is a state correctional institute there, but Camp Hill is an actual town that derived its name from back in the 1700's when a Capt or Colonel in the American Revolution used the "Hill" as an encampment area while accepting volunteers to fight the British. Very unlikely that FEMA would level numerous homes & business's to build a Prison Camp. Way to much $$$$ is situated in that town. Probably one of the most affluent towns north of Baltimore. Not a very good place to put a Prison Camp.
