Not saying they are related to Y2K, just something I've noticed. Take this one for example:

No One Injured When Small Plane Lands on Another at 200 Feet The Associated Press

PLANT CITY, Fla. (AP) - A small plane coming in for a landing became wedged on top of another one 200 feet in the air, and the interlocked pair landed together without injury to any of the three people on board. The sight of the double-decker plane at Plant City Airport outside of Tampa attracted gawkers until it was finally taken apart.

"It was truly amazing," said Marilyn Gauthier of the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority.

Jay Perrin, 19, was descending in a Cadet on Saturday and didn't notice the Cessna flying below him, officials said. Perrin's front wheel broke the Cessna's windshield and became jammed, sheriff's Sgt. Rod Reder said.

Flight instructor Alan Vangee, 65, took over the controls of the Cessna from his 56-year-old student pilot and landed safely on the grass.

"It should have been a double-plane fatality crash," Reder said. "If I was the student pilot, it would be my last flight."

Roland, we've been watching the plane crash index and noticing a lot more too, starting about 3 weeks ago. Lots more! Anybody can tell by just watching AP Breaking News. Also, locally, many more. Some deaths of prominent folks too.

Last week it was reported that 3 single engines went down in one day along with that military transport and the helicopter. In the last two days, planes have gone down in the Phillipines, Pennsylavania, New Jersey, and Missouri.

Any body keeping score? Website?

Whole lotta reason to not fly "The Friendly Skies." Has anyone else noticed that the media has been in downplay mode as well? Make me wonder...

When you can get a pilots licence for only 60 hours training then you will get a lot of idiots who fly like they drive sports cars, they think they are invincable and can cut corners.

The FAA once again is doing it's usual lousy job of policing the industry and and catering to what people want as apposed to what should be done.

We used to get pilots that had military training and a lot of combat experience, they had respect for the dangers of flying. Now any fool with an overblown ego can get a licence.

I'll bet at least one of those crashes was dur to the "mile high club".

=========================

I guess this just goes to show you that planes fall from the skies all the time. Just part of the normal status quo. So rest assured that if any fall from the skies after rollover it is not due to Y2K but just the way things go.

And remember...

Keep good records, and

Your money is safest in the bank.

There's actually been about five small plane crashes in the past two months here in NJ. May have to put tin foil over the roof of my house.

So I guess I should stop worrying about the sudden rash of chemical leaks in this town....whewwww!!!!!

-- Satanta (Huffin'Fumes@MyHome.com), December 13, 1999.

There was a small plane collision/crash in DeLand, Florida, where there is a flight school, a couple of weeks ago.

There's a flight school here, actually, too, where John F. Kennedy, Jr. trained. During the war, the airport was a Naval air base where pilots trained (I've read about this). There were A LOT of crashes and deaths then.
