Rush Limbaugh a GI?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Just listening to Rush and he used the term sheeple. This is the first time I've heard him use it. Has he been lurking here on TB2K?

Well, he did move out of New York City, and refuses to disclose where he lives.

Rush is a freeper. The term "sheeple" has been used at that site for the last 2 or 3 years. My guess is he got it from there.

However, he has moved from New York City to a remote location in Florida. In addition, he has added generator backups to his home. (He says because of hurricanes)

My sense is that he is GI. Like a good GI these days, he doesn't talk much about it in public.

rush = waste of oxygen

Sheeple has been used on "Free Republic" Conservative web site for years - He frequents that web site..

Rush has obliquely referenced "those sites on the internet," so he probably reveiws sites like this maybe even this one. His take is the government is not to be trusted not that y2k is going to be TEOTWAWKI. If he does borrow ideas from this or other forums he would never credit anyone else.

Probably a closet GI, will not stick his neck out in case BITR comes up.

Though Rush once said he lived on an "island", as in Jupiter Island, maybe? (I know there are tons of islands around Florida, but my recollection was he said something else besides at the time that hinted at Jupiter, something about getting over a bridge and having golf courses right there and, also someone being his neighbor who was famous. )Anyway, my bet is he lives within a larger self-contained, somewhat self-sufficient community of very wealthy people. He can't live that far from an airport and probably lives somewhere along the water where he can make approach to his property by helicopter without worrying about utilities and other junk. Some of these communities can just "pull up the drawbridge" and get in and out by boat if they want.

At one point he was most definitely a polly. I sent him a FAX saying that he was missing the boat and that it is the lack of leadership from Clinton and Gore that's going to cause serious problem. Thought this might make him look into the problem more seriously. Who knows at this point.

Rush lives in Palm Beach, where many wealthy people live. Anyone could find him if they wanted to by looking at public records. There was a short article or announcement in the paper a few years ago when he bought the house. I think he paid about $3M for it. Palm Beach is separated from teh mainland by the intercoastal waterway. Of course, he may have moved again.

Rush lives on A1A just south of the Bath&Tennis Club in Palm Beach.Bought an oceanfront deal on 2 acres. Paid closer to 5m.House is located on the broken up Blossom estate Via Apava purchased by Ron Perlman a few years back and subsequently subdivided. Have thought often of dropping by and heaving a dozen or so eggs at the masters abode but jail time for small pleasures just ain't my thing.

Rush is a POLLY ! If the party line was doomer, he would play that

I think Rush is a GI.

During the recent hurricane, he mentioned that he had 2 alternative systems for backup power in his house. He recently transfered much of his broadcasting to Florida.

He has refused to talk about y2k. But in some of his recent talks, I have noticed themes that are suggestive of y2k. Lots of talk about how soft the present generations are, how they have not been stressed by "difficult times".

I am sure Rush hangs out with some folks who are GI. He knows he would be kicked off the air if he addressed y2k in a way that challenged the overpowering corporate sleeping gas.

I don't know if Rush is a GI or not. "Officially" he thinks it will nothing more than a nuisance. But nobody in America has more ability to start a panic than Rush, and he knows it.

-- Dog Gone (layinglow@rollover.now), December 13, 1999.

Not so. I think he may be a closet GI. On my way downtown I tuned in to his show, maybe 2 weeks ago.

Caught a blurb of him making remarks about Y2K post-Oprah show. He was disgusted with the guy who made the comment about having "clothes" for Y2K.

Rush said that maybe there was something to Y2K afterall, and inferred that the government may be hiding information from us.

Anyone else hear this?

Rush's brother is a commentator on World Net Daily.....WND has a daily asst. of articles dealing with Y2K news. No way would Rush not know something about what's going on with Y2K.

-- Jo Ann (MaJo@Michiana.com), December 13, 1999.

I'm VERY suprised that Rush would spout off anything but the Party line on Y2k. He mainly does what his corporate masters tell him to do - he has very little in the way of independent thinking ability in my opinion.

Sure, he may talk like he "gets it", but we'll see, won't we?
