EMAIL EPSON TO DEMAND FIRMWARE UPGRADE!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

Everyone here should email Epson and demand a firmware upgrade for the epson 850z and 800 to reduce the amount of in camera jpeg compression! It is just too high and ruins what could be a excellent camera! I have emailed them twice, if enough people do this it may force them to do it! If you are going to ask people to email Epson you need to prove you case not just tell them they should do it. What is your evidence that the photos have been affected by the JPEG compression? How do you know that less or no compression would make any difference? If you would be willing to post a photo at full resolution that came directly from the camera that has evidence of JPEG artifacts it could go a long ways in proving your case to both us and Epson. I don't care if it a black and white checkerboard table cloth just something tangable for us to decided for ourselves.

I4d like much better to update the firmware at least to set the shoot speed in one second steps between four and half seconds
